This is to advise that circumstances beyond our control and for the health and well-being of all concerned our 68th Annual General Meeting on 31st March 2020 has been POSTPONED.
In line with government directives all non-essential business/gatherings are banned.
We will be in touch again when it's safe to do so, to advise the new date for our Annual General Meeting.
In the meantime, please stay safe, look after yourselves and your families and don't forget singing is good for the soul.
Dear NPOS friends and family
Considering the difficult challenges posed by COVID-19, the Board of Management of New Plymouth Operatic Society take the health, safety and wellbeing of our Society members, Show cast members, Sponsors, Volunteers and staff very seriously, ensuring everyone’s safety is our greatest priority.
In the light of this evolving situation regarding COVID-19 around the world and in New Zealand, we have been closely monitoring the Ministry of Health guidelines.
It is with a very heavy heart that during these unprecedented times and after much consultation and deliberation, New Plymouth Operatic board of management have made the difficult decision to cancel our show season of ‘Wicked’ which was due to open on 18th June 2020.
We are currently working with the Ticketek and Showplace to organise ticket refunds.
While we are extremely sad to have to make this decision, the health and safety of everyone involved is paramount.
In these times we need to stay positive so we start to think about all the wonderful shows ahead of us. As they say, “the show must go on”, and it will.
Future decisions will be made in the best interest of the society and all people concerned.
In the meantime, keep yourself and your families safe.
