The 100 is a conceptual production comprising music and songs from past shows woven together in a manner that celebrates the history of musical theatre in the TSB Showplace (New Plymouth Opera House). The history of the Showplace will be incorporated partly during the show, and also via graphics / video presentations pre-show and during the interval.
Musically the show will comprise some 30 songs and 2 mega-mixes from over 25 separate shows. These are a mix of solo and full company numbers, small group performances, and children only numbers. Included will be songs from shows such as Mamma Mia, Joseph, Matilda, Les Miserables, 42nd Street, and We Will Rock You (plus many more, old and new).
Celebrating 100 years of musical theatre in the TSB Showplace, this unique show brings together all your favourites – ‘The 100’ is History Re-imagined!
An overall performing company of 90 (+/-) is envisaged. Included are onstage roles, dance company, and offstage vocals. The aim being to enable as many members as possible to participate. Included will be two childrens teams doing alternate performances.
Ages (on opening night): Narrators 16+ / Adults 15+ / Children 8 - 14
A pre-audition information event is being held on Sunday 25th January 2026 at the NPOS Complex. This will be split into two sessions: Information about Childrens Roles at 3.30pm, followed by a session about Adults Roles at 5.30pm. All welcome.
